Is Bangalore becoming a dead city? This is the most trending topic in the recent years since the study conducted by DR Bharath H Aithal and Prof TV Ramachandra are the persons of the center of ecological sciences at the Indian Institute of Science (IISc) predicts that Bangalore will become a dead city in 5 years. The study also says that the unplanned growth will make the city not suitable for living or unlivable. The study also predicted the following things like there is 525 % of the built-up area from the last 4 decades, 79 % decline in water bodies, and 78 % decrease in vegetation.
Bangalore is formerly known as the garden city. But, due to its concrete jungle which is filled with vehicle exhaust and buildings, the Bangalore city is going to be a dead city. As the trees are cut down to raise the buildings, underground water bodies are exhausting, and the city is full of pollution due to vehicles.
Factors Responsible for the Situation
Many international players have invested a lot in this city and have to wake up to make this city back again as a garden city but do you think it’s possible? I don’t think so? The Bangalore city was killed by real estate, decayed administration, corrupt politicians, and other people who are involved to allow everything to make the city downhill.
The main reason for this situation is due to unplanned constructions and things that are done in and around the city. Here, the buildings are raised in places where there is no water supply, limited road service, no sewage line. In Bangalore, the water supply is from the sewage flows and bore wells which are going to decay because of mere sources which make the living very hard if the same situation continues in the future.
Increasing Parking Issue
In Bangalore commercial buildings are also built without providing any parking area, that makes the people park the vehicles on road and that causes obstruction to usual traffic on the roads. Due to the IT boom has increased the people inrush of people into the city from other states and the expansion is not planned at all which results in Bangalore city to become a dead city. The authorities have to take necessary actions to restrict this situation and make Bangalore city back to its form of the garden city which allows people living easy.
